It’s that time again where we get in touch to share our latest news and advice. We’re glad to receive such a great response to our newsletters, and are excited to be providing you with the latest edition. It’s been a busy couple of months here at Tweed Wealth Management, from introducing new members to the team to charity challenges – so sit back, relax and continue reading to discover what we’ve been up to…

We’re Chartered!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve received Corporate Chartered status, showing our whole team’s commitment to working to the highest professional standard for our clients!

While many of our team are already individually Chartered, receiving this status for the business as a whole confirms our investment in you; our dedication to committing to a customer-first approach; and our contribution to the development of the financial planning profession.

Cause for celebration.

Congratulations to Callum Hamilton, our Chartered Technical Manager, for being named Paraplanner of the Year 2021 by St. James’s Place! Receiving this award is a result of his incredible work ethic and tireless motivation to improve throughout his time at Tweed. He’ll use this title to speak at events, promote the industry and share knowledge with clients.

Register your trust online.

Is your trust registered on the online Trust Registration Service (TRS)? As part of European wide anti-money laundering regulations, HMRC now requires most trusts to be registered online.

We have been in contact with clients we know are affected by this.  However, if you would like any further information regarding this change then please get in touch and our team will be happy to support you.

SPEAK TO ONE OF THE TEAM

Tom’s trek.

Our now-retired Senior Chartered Financial Planner, Tom Hay, recently took part in an epic ten-day trek across East Greenland where he and his team required incredible mental strength as they faced temperatures of -35 degrees. The team raised a staggering £38,798 for The Polar Academy and St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation. Well done to Tom and the rest of his team – and enjoy retirement!

Recent goings on.

We were delighted to join forces with John Home Wealth Management earlier this year and are excited with this new step in our journey.

Career conversion.

Tweed’s also very excited to have three ex-professional rugby players as part of the team, bringing valuable transferable skills including teamwork, ambition and focus.

We’re thrilled to see Paul Rowley, Michael Allen and Jason Baggett progressing within their careers and are fortunate to have them on board.

Charitable donations.

We’re so excited to have helped raise money through the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation for a variety of charities. Over the last 12 months, we have:

  • Donated £2.5k to Mikeysline, which provides mental health support to rural Highland communities
  • Raised £2,000 by completing our Munro Bagging Challenge
  • Raised £8k by completing the Everest Challenge for Love Oliver, a charity that helps fund research into childhood cancer
  • Donated £2.5k to Diamonds in the Community, which works to improve better lives through projects that support opportunities of social inclusion and better physical and mental health.

Our next challenge.

Our next charity challenge is going to be on September 2nd when we’re taking on The Edinburgh 7 Summits Challenge, a 35km trek that includes 900m of ascent.

We’re fundraising for St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation through a Just Giving page and would be grateful for any of your donations.
