7 summits. 15 team members. Over £2,480 raised for great causes.
If you know us, you’ll know we love statistics and figures… and those numbers above give us great cause to smile!
On September 2, 15 intrepid hikers took on the Edinburgh 7 Summits Challenge – a gruelling day of urban trekking through the capital, all in the name of charity.
Meeting at the office at a frankly eye-watering 7am, we traversed 35km of Edinburgh’s most scenic streets and paths – climbing over 900m up seven of the city’s famous peaks. Our route saw us taking in the historic Water of Leith, the extinct volcano Arthur’s Seat, incredible views of the city from Calton Hill – amongst many others – before ending on Castle Rock at the iconic Edinburgh Castle.
Our team has raised a fantastic £1,120 in donations – which we are matching as a company, providing a whopping £2,240 to St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation.
There’s still time to donate via JustGiving, too – and we’re committed to matching all your donations. We’d like to thank our team and everyone who has donated for supporting such a worthy cause.
The Foundation raises funds and provides volunteering support for hundreds of small and medium-sized charities across Scotland, the UK and around the world every year, and we’re proud to be able to support its work.
Not only did it feel amazing raising funds for a cause we’re passionate about, but it was also incredible to gather so many of Team Tweed together to do something good.
Community has always been important to us at Tweed Wealth Management – and over the last few years, with all that’s gone on, that’s more evident than ever.
Just as we hiked and strolled (and slogged!) our way through the streets of Edinburgh together, so too will we celebrate our successes… and make plans for our next charity challenge once the legs have recovered!
