Chris and Paul's vEverest Lockdown Challenge

Lockdown didn’t stop us!

Myself, Paul and Cormac took on yet another charity challenge which involved climbing the equivalent of Everest on Zwift in our garages – vEveresting.

You might be wondering what is vEveresting? Well, it is picking a hill on Zwift and completing continual uphill reps until you climb the 8,848m…equivalent to climbing Mt Everest.  Of course, we couldn’t climb the ‘real’ thing due to lockdown however, at Tweed we don’t give up quite that easily and we knew we wanted to complete another charity challenge within the first quarter of the year, hallelujah for Zwift.

It’s hard to convey how hard a challenge this was but averaging a continual cycle of 14-20 hours (truly awful!) this is without doubt the hardest challenge yet for the team and I can confirm there were some struggles along the way…let’s just say we won’t be trying this challenge ever again!!

Our aim was to try and raise as many funds as possible for a truly wonderful Scottish charity called LoveOliver who provide practical support to families battling childhood cancers along with funding crucial research into childhood cancer.

The support we received was truly incredible and ever so humbling! We raised a fantastic £9,008.51 which was split between LoveOliver and the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation, who will go on to support a number of other well deserved charities across the UK!

As always, we value each and every one of you who continues to support our crazy, yet wonderful charity challenges in order to help and support these inspirational charities.  This is really what it is all about and makes it all worth it in order to raise much needed funds, for a much needed charity, who supports families facing the unthinkable challenge of battling childhood cancer.

Thank you once again for supporting us.

Chris, Paul, Cormac and LoveOliver
